China secures men's doubles title at ITTF Pro Tour Finals

China has secured the men's doubles title of the ITTF Pro Tour Finals after Kong Linghui and Wang Hao swept past Ko Lai Chak and Li Ching of Chinese Hong Kong 4-1 in Beijing on December 11.

The Hong Kong players, silver medallists in Athens Olympics, took the third set 11-9 after they conceded the first two with an identical score 11-3.

Awake from lethargy, the Chinese pair fought back to take the fourth and fifth sets to seal the victory 11-3, 11-3, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8.

In an earlier semi, another Chinese pair of Ma Lin and Chen Qi edged out Micheal Maze and Finn Tugwell of Denmark in a stunning seven-setter 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 6-11, 11-5, 10-12 and 11-8.

The men's doubles title match is slated on Sunday.
