Senior trade officials of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held trade talks in Beijing Monday.

Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai told his DPRK counterpart, Rim Gyong

Man, that the two countries enjoy traditional friendship and the exchanges of high-level visits promoted bilateral ties and trade, which still has great potential.

Rim said that the friendship between DPRK and China was developing soundly under the care from the two countries' leaders while bilateral trade and economic cooperation made great progress.

The DPRK trade ministry hopes to enhance communication and cooperation with Chinese Ministry of Commerce to further stimulate trade and economic ties, he said.

The two sides also discussed the formation of joint committees on trade, economy and science, as well as investment and cooperation on mines and concerned laws and regulations.
