Trial of heavy loaded train successful at the Datong-Qinghuangdao railway

The first trial of a train with load of 20,000 tons has been successful at the Datong-Qinhuangdao railway. With total length of 653 kms, the Datong-Qinhuangdao railway is China's first railway exclusively used for coal transportation that opens to heavy loaded trains. The designed transportation capacity is 100 million ton per year. This year, the railway departments have further exploited the potential of the railway. By running trains loaded with 10, 000 tons, they creates a new record of transporting 150 million tons. Next year, the railway will strive to make the capacity 200 million tons.
