Senior official urges young farmers to study, start businesses
font size

Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu urged rural youth here Tuesday to further study and start their own businesses in contributing to the development of China's rural regions.

China needs generations of young farmers to push forward the modernization drive of rural areas and resolve problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers, he said while congratulating on young people who were named China's Outstanding Young Farmers.

Rural youth should make study their top priority, be bold to start their own businesses and realize the construction of rural areas is incumbent on them, he said.

Ten young farmers were awarded the honorary title out of 21 who were nominated at the ninth Chinese outstanding young farmers awarding ceremony.
