Made-in-China car exports to Russia rise sharply

China exported 280 domestic-manufactured motor vehicles to Russia through Manzhouli, China's largest land port, in the first 11 months of this year, according to latest customs statistics.

This is 19 times last year's figure. Nearly 85 percent of the export were vans. The remaining were buses and mini-trucks.

An officer of the Manzhouli Customs attributed the large increase of exports to the high quality and low prices of Chinese automobiles. Other reasons included simplified customs procedures and proximity to Russia.

Manzhouli, in north China's Inner Mongolia, lies on the center of the northeast Asian economic ring. With well-equipped railway and highway systems, Manzhouli is on the most convenient and the shortest route for China's export to Europe.
