Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf Wednesday said that Pakistan wants peaceful resolution of all outstanding disputes including Kashmir with India, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Addressing officers at the Command and Staff College in Quetta,capital of Balochistan province, Musharraf said confidence building measures and dialogue process are underway for the solution of the lingering problems between India and Pakistan.

Reiterating Pakistan's unswerving commitment to root out terrorism, Musharraf said his country is opposed to the menace in all its forms and manifestations.

He said the Pakistani government has launched a successful operation against foreign extremists involved in terrorist activities on both sides of the border, who have taken refuge in the tribal region of South Waziristan bordering Afghanistan.

The local residents in South Waziristan, he said, are appreciative of the government's actions against terrorists and now normalcy is being restored in the area.

Musharraf said terrorism has affected the Muslim countries and now the Islamic countries will have to take some concrete steps tocorrect negative perceptions.

He urged the Western countries to help find early, just and peaceful resolution of the Palestinian and Kashmir disputes.
