Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Yi said in Beijing on December 16 that China will promote business investment in Pakistan, a consensus reached by Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Chinese leaders during Aziz's current China visit.
Wu made the remarks when meeting with Aziz, who is here on a five-day official visit as guest of Premier Wen Jiabao.
Wu said the economic and trade cooperation between China and Pakistan has maintained sound growth in recent years.
"The Chinese government holds a positive attitude toward cementing cooperation with Pakistan, and will continue to deepen bilateral trade relations," Wu said.
Aziz said his current China trip has been "fruitful," noting that Pakistan values its economic and trade relations with China.
He said Pakistan is eager to enhance cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, finance and trade. Pakistan welcomes more Chinese companies to invest in the country.
This is Aziz's first visit to China after becoming prime minister in August.
