Throughput of Yangtze River ports reaches 391 million tons

Throughput of ports along the main stem of the Yangtze River set a new record this year, said Huang Qiang, director-general of Yangtze River Administration of Navigational Affairs. From January to November the 25 main ports along the Yangtze River main stem accomplished a throughput of 391 million tons increasing by 41.2 percent year on year. Throughput of the 25 main ports is expected to reach 430 million tons this year increasing by 39.6 percent compared with last year.

Main transportation systems have preliminarily formed along the main stem of the Yangtze River such as container, crude oil, minerals, coal and Ro/Ro ship systems. The annual handling capacity has reached 480 million tons with 10 ports having a throughput of over 10 million tons.
