The export volume of China's IT (information technology) products is expected to reach 200 billion US dollars this year, sources with the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) said Friday in Hangzhou.

By the end of October this year, the export volume of IT products stood at 161.4 billion dollars, a year-on-year increase of 47.1 percent, the MII said at a working conference on China's IT industry development in 2005 held here.

The total export and import volume of IT products totaled 308.1 billion dollars from January to October, up 43.4 percent year-on-year. IT products also had a registered trade surplus of 14.7 billion US dollars, the MII said.

In 2004, the sales volume of China's IT industry is expected to reach 2.5 trillion yuan (301.9 billion US dollars), up 33 percent year-on-year. Its industrial added-value is expected to reach 550 billion yuan (66.4 billion US dollars), up 37.5 percent.
