Zhejiang University of Sciences in East China is launching courses on image building, a subject that has so far made little inroad into China's higher education sectors.
The Zhejiang-based Business Daily reports the courses will focus on make-up, hair styling, wardrobe, speech and deportment.
The university will also work with an organization from South Korea, which boasts developed beauty industries.
The paper says it is the first time that image building has featured on the curricula of Chinese universities, although it is predicted to be one of the hottest professions in the years to come.
