Mexico, Costa Rica to host U17 qualifiers

Mexico and Costa Rica will host qualifiers for the under-17 World Cup soccer tournament, withthe participation of eight teams from Central America, the Caribbean and North America.

Costa Rica will host Cuba, El Salvador and the United States inGroup A from April 12 to 16 in San Jose, while Mexico, Canada, Haiti and Honduras will play in a Mexican city yet to be determined between April and May.

The winners of the groups will qualify for the under-17 World Cup, to be held from Sept. 15 to Oct. 2 next year, and the two runner-ups will clash for a third spot.
