Bronze pot donated to Hong Kong museum

The three-legged vase entitled a Pot of Deng Gong (a particularly respectful form of addresss for the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping) at the Hong Kong Museum of History on Friday. The gift marks the 100th anniversary of Deng's birthday. The bronze pot, 59 centimetres in height and 38 kilograms in weight, was presented to the museum by scientists from the Chinese mainland. The idea was proposed by well known scientists and the pot was designed and crafted by artists from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Deng's famous quotations of 296 Chinese characters are inscribed on the pot. (newsphoto)
