Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, urged Party officials in charge of publicity to enhance their capacity in building advanced socialist culture in Beijing on December 18.

Addressing a national conference on publicity work held from Dec. 17 to 18, Li urged the officials to improve their leadership and working style by working closely with the masses so as to enhance their capacity in building advanced socialist culture.

Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that publicity work should be centered on building up a harmonious society, meeting people's growing spiritual and cultural needs and developing China's literature, arts and publication industries.
