Food poisoning falls 19 workers in Hainan

Nineteen workers in this capital city of southern China's Hainan Province were poisoned from canteen supper Saturday evening but not endangered, local sources told Xinhua Sunday.

The workers were all loaders from Haidian harbor company in Haikou.

According to an employee surnamed Chen with the company, at 6:00 Saturday evening, after the workers had supper, which contained Chinese cabbage, rice, pork and chilli, at the company's canteen, they, including 17 men and two women, suffered dizziness and vomit at about 7:00 p.m., then they were sent to the city's People's Hospital.

The 19 people are still hospitalized for further observation, and cause of the food poisoning is being investigated.
