President Hu visits school, family in Macao
Hu, who arrived here Sunday morning on a two-day trip to attend a celebration gathering marking the 5th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the inauguration of the second-term government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). Hu was warmly welcomed during his visit to the High School for Workers' Children, a half-a-century-old learning facility founded originally to help underprivileged local workers' offspring. Hu, also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, encouraged the students to study harder for Macao's development, and donated books and pianos to the school.
Earlier in the day, Hu also attended the inauguration ceremony of a local bridge and toured several sites of historical interest in the city. Source: Xinhua | ||||
