Czech approves 1st national sustainable development strategy

The Czech government approved the first draft of the national strategy for sustainable development, local media reported Sunday.

Boosting the country's economic competitiveness will be one of the primary targets of the strategy.

The draft seeks to protect natural resources and the environment by reducing the contradiction between economic development and environmental protection.

It also emphasized social harmony and stability by developing human resources, achieving lower unemployment rate and optimizing the age structure of population.
