Macro-controls have positive impact on private companies

The macro-control policy has had positive and far-reaching impact on the development of private economy, said Huang Mengfu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Congress (CPPCC) and vice president of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

Huang made such remarks on China's second situation-analyzing conference on private economy held in southwest China's Chongqing municipality on December 16.

Huang said that in the first three quarters this year, thanks to the strengthening and improving of the macro-controls, a few unstable and unhealthy factors got curbed, weak parts got strengthened, avoiding big ups and downs, and the economy maintained a steady and relatively fast development. A series of measures to strengthen and improve macro-controls taken by the central government bore fruit markedly, creating a good market climate and macroeconomic environment for the rapid development of the private economy, accompanied by good effects, Huang added.

Huang pointed out that a differentiating principle with both protection and control was implemented. Enterprises of different ownerships are treated the same way and according to law. Although the macro-controls in the industries such as steel and iron, cement and electrolytic aluminum incurred private enterprises temporary losses, in the long run, they are conducive to the enhancement of the levels of the techniques and environmental protection of those enterprises. Plus, they are conducive to the long-term sustained development of these enterprises. Macro-controls direct the blind and impulsive development tempo and investment of private enterprises to be more rational.

Blocking and opening-up are both seen in the macro-controls this time. Industries previously with high entry barriers have been opened to the private economy. This not only ensured the seriousness of the nation's strategic regulations but also promoted the harmonious and coordinative development of the whole society.

The regulations are helpful for the private enterprises to form a more rational and healthier development mode, to understand and feel the scientific development concept. They are conducive for private entrepreneurs to establishing stronger sense of social responsibility, connecting the development of their enterprises with the nation's destiny as well as building and improving their social image and cultivating their view of overall interest and sense of entirety.
