font size

A Chinese senior official highlighted the importance of the agriculture sector during his Dec. 17- 21 inspection tour in east China's Anhui Province.

Jia Qing lin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), called for more efforts to care for rural areas, agriculture and farmers.

Jia said that the agriculture sector plays a key role in all government businesses.

He pointed out several ways to improve the work, including the raising of the comprehensive production capacity of agriculture and promoting the continuous growth of the grain output and farmer's income. He also recommended continuing policies that help boost agriculture, such as grain subsidies, tax exemption and reductions and the timely payment of wages to migrant workers.
