The Democratic People's Republicof Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday condemned the "ultra-rightists" in Japan for instigating hostile mind against the DPRK through the case of "false remains" and demanded Japan return the remains together with the test data.

"The Japanese ultra-right conservative forces cooked up 'the case of false remains' in a bid to render the mind-set of Japanesepeople hostile to the DPRK and drive the DPRK-Japan hostile relations into an extreme phase," said the Rodong Sinmun in a commentary in Pyongyang.

The commentary came after Japan said a recent DNA test showed that the remains of the Japanese woman Megumi Yokota they got from the DPRK were not those of Yokota but faked ones. Yokota had reportedly been abducted by the DPRK and died there.

The commentary said the DPRK had done everything it could as regards to the abduction issue.

"Now that they insist her remains are false in disregard of thesincere efforts made by the DPRK, we have no option but to demand Japan return the remains together with the test data," said the commentary.

It also warned "In case 'sanctions' are applied against the DPRK, the DPRK will decisively react by exercising its right to strong option."
