Russian GDP growth to make 6.8-6.9% this year: Fradkov

Russian GDP growth may amount to 6.8-6.9% in 2004, Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said on Tuesday.

On Wednesday the Russian government will discuss a medium-term social and economic development program.

"Industrial production growth may reach 6.3-6.4%, and incomes of the population may go up 9%," Fradkov said. The inflation "will be higher than forecasted, and we are analyzing this," he added.

"We will reach the target of doubling GDP, but we must reduce our dependence on the foreign economic situation and concentrate on national factors of economic growth," Fradkov said. He said that Russia has sufficient stability, including that financial.
