font size

Chairman of China's top political advisory body said in Beijing Wednesday at a regular meeting that China's united front work departments should get all forces of the society to work together to develop the country.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that in the coming year, the united front work should give priority to the country's economic and social development.

"We made great achievements in realizing great solidarity among all political parties, communities, ethnic groups, social groups and all China-loving people under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with Hu Jintao as general secretary in the past year," said Jia.

He also called on the united front departments and CPPCC organizations to contribute to "building up a socialist harmonious society".
