Albania ready for serious partnership with Serbia and Montenegro: Albanian PM
font size

Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano said Wednesday that Albania clearly expressed the will for the promotion of the bilateral relations with Serbia and Montenegro without obstacles, the ATA news agency reported.

This commitment generated from the constructive policy Albania pursued in the region, as well as from the will to contribute and actively take part in the regional Euro-Atlantic integration, Nano said during the meeting with the visiting Foreign Minister of Serbia and Montenegro Vuk Draskovic.

"We can not change the historical past, but we can change our common future," Draskovic said, adding "I am ready to cooperate with you for peace, security and prosperity in the region."

Draskovic arrived Wednesday in Tirana for a two-days official visit, during which he has also met with the Albanian President Alfred Moisiu, Speaker of Assembly Servet Pellumbi and Foreign Minister Kastriot Islami.

Two agreements on the tourism cooperation and the elimination of double taxation have been signed by Draskovic and Islami on Wednesday.
