China asks US to lift trade tariff
font size

China has requested that the United States rectify its unfair decision to levy an import tariff on shrimps from China.

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Products and Animal By-Products said the US decision has seriously violated World Trade Organization rules and US anti-dumping regulations.

A chamber official says Chinese seafood enterprises expressed their dissatisfaction with the US Commerce Department in a written statement and asked the US government to carefully consider Chinese enterprises' requests.

The official also adds China will preserve their right to file a formal complaint against the US for its unfair ruling in order to protect Chinese enterprises' legal interests.
