Lu Ming, former deputy mayor of Jiujiang Ci in Jiangxi Province, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for taking bribes in east China's Jiangxi Province.

The verdict was issued by Lushan District People's Court in Jiujiang.

During his tenure as secretary of Xunyang District committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and deputy mayor of Jiujiang City from 1996 to 2003, Lu had taken bribes totaling 322,000 yuan (38,795 US dollars) and abused his post to seek illegal profits for the bribers, according to the court.

Lu was arrested in this January and Jiangxi Provincial People's Procuratorate brought an accusation against him.
