E. China ports export more chemical fertilizerPorts in east China's Shandong Province reported a marked growth in fertilizer exports amid a drastic decline in arrivals of the agro-chemicals in the first 11 months of this year. According to customs house in Qingdao, a major port in the province, Shandong ports bought from abroad 607,000 tons of fertilizer for 150 million US dollars between January and November, down 49.7 percent and 31.57 percent respectively from the same period of last year. But the province exported 961,000 tons of fertilizer, or 170 million US dollars worth, up 26.1 percent and 59.3 percent respectively. The change in the foreign trade was attributable to price advantage of domestic products, according to the customs sources. China is the largest fertilizer producer and consumer in the world. |
