    A new type of flying reptile "Jida pterosaur" discovered in China

    Type Specimens of fossils and research fruits of the "Jida pterosaur", a new kind of reptile living in early Cretaceous were displayed at a press conference held at the fossil exhibition hall of the Paleontology and Stratigraphy Center of the Jinlin University Dec 22.

    Chen Ning Yang registers for marriage in Guangdong

    Chinese American Nobel laureate Chen Ning Yang, 82, and his fiancee Weng Fan, 28, arrive at the Bureau of Civil Affairs of Shantou City, South China's Guangdong Province for marriage registration Friday, December 24, 2004. The couple were said to visit Weng's family in Chaozhou Friday afternoon. In 1957, Yang shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with Lee Tsung-dao "for their penetrating investigation of the so-called parity laws, which has led to important discoveries regarding the elementary particles."     Chinese Zhu Guofan cycles across Eurasia

    Zhu Guofan, president of Beijing Tailian Liangzi Health & Fitness Technology Co., Ltd., at a press conference in Beijing, Dec. 23, 2004 for his book on his cycle tour across Eurasia. Zhu took off in Beijing on June 1 this year, following the steps of Marco Polo, he passed through Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang of China, then Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece and finally reached Venice, Italy. He cycled 15, 000 km in 123 days.

    British soldiers charged with murder released

    Putin accuses the US for isolating Russia

    Russian President Vladimir Putin answers questions during his annual press conference at Kremlin in Moscow. He accused the United States of trying to "isolate" Russia from its neighbours among the former Soviet republics.

    Delicate miniature sculptures

    This is a miniature sculpture using sand and resin created by folk artist Chen Fengxian of south China's Taipei City. Ten 3mm-long crabs are sculptured on the white sand. Chen, the Taipei artist for miniature sculptures, has completed over 80 miniature sculptures using the materials such as wood, bamboo, cotton, stone, sand, metal and resin in the past 20 years.

    New production base of Guangzhou-Honda inaugurated

    A Guangzhou-Hongda's economy car called "JAZZ" is displayed in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province. The first phase of an export-oriented automobile production base built by the Guangzhou-Honda Automobile Company starts trial operation in Guangzhou on Thursday.

    Chinese leaders meet with Venezuelan President
