The legislative bodies of China and Kazakhstan vowed on December 23 to further exchanges and to help realize the common ground reached by the two heads of states to push forward the relations between the two countries, according to Foreign Ministry sources.
Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, told visiting N. Abykaev, chairman of the Kazakhstan Senate, that 2004 was significant for Sino-Kazakhstan relations.
Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Kazakhstan counterpart Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev worked together to push forward the bilateral ties and the cooperation on energy resources and communication, Wu said, adding that the fruitful cooperation benefits the two peoples.
Abykaev said relations between Kazakhstan and China have entered to a new stage, and the Kazakhstan parliament is ready to advance exchanges with China's NPC to contribute to the relations between the two countries.
