The author Wei Zongpei is a political commissar from a naval base of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Jiang inherited Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping's thought on fostering military professionals, which aims to foster high-quality, new-type servicemen in the country, the book says.

The book contains 13 chapters, with a total of 370,000 Chinese characters.
