Senior official commends private business people
font size

China rewarded a hundred representatives of private business people for their prominent contributions to the country's development here Friday.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that China's private sector has played an increasingly important role in the country's economic growth since the reform and opening up policy was launched in the late 1970s.

Private businesses have not only promoted China's economic growth on the whole, but helped increasing financial revenues, vitalized urban and rural markets and brought convenience to people's daily life, Jia said.

Meanwhile, Jia said, those private business runners were not self-satisfied with the profits they had earned, however, they have actively participated in public activities such as donations to education and disaster control, setting up a good example for the society.

The chairman also encouraged governments at all levels to help and guide private business people to make further contributions to the nation's revitalization.
