4 Pakistani paramilitary troops killed in attacks
font size

At least four paramilitary men were killed and four others injured Saturday in an attack in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province.

The independent news agency of News Network International (NNI) reported that the soldiers came under attack when a military convoy was patrolling in the troubled tribal belt bordering Iran.

Automatic weapons including rockets were used by the unidentified attackers, the NNI report said.

The injured were rushed to a military hospital in Quetta, the provincial capital, said the report, adding that the attackers managed to flee the scene.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack but the authorities blame elements for such attacks who oppose establishment of military cantonments in the region, said the report.

Investigations have been started, it added.
