Wu Guanzheng, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said in Beijing on December 28 it is imperative to study and practice Jiang Zemin's theory on fighting corruption and building a clean government and make it a prime job for the CPC to increase its ruling capacity and consolidating its ruling status.
Wu, also standing committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said this at a workshop on the study ofJiang's anti-corruption theory in Beijing.
The Party's third generation of leadership with Jiang as the core has given top priority to the issue under the situation of reform and opening to the outside world and building a socialist market economy. It put forward a series of new viewpoints and new measures so as to form Jiang's anti-corruption theory, said Wu.
Jiang's anti-corruption theory has enriched and developed the theories of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping on building and establishing a clean government. It is the guidance for China to promote the current anti-corruption campaign, Wu said.
