The 13th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) issued a bulletin on Wednesday announcing that five NPC deputies have been expelled from the legislature.

The five people are Zhang Junyuan, former director of the Communications Department of the Jiangsu provincial government; Wu Zhenhan, former president of Hunan Higher People's Court; Xu Yandong, former president of Heilongjiang Higher People's Court; Xu Fa, procurator of Heilongjiang Provincial People's Procuratorate; and Liu Guangzhi, president of Air Force Command College.

The bulletin said Zhang Junyuan and Wu Zhenhan have been abolished their qualification as NPC deputies by their provincial people's congresses due to corruption.

The bulletin also said Xu Yandong and Xu Fa had been removed from their posts due to severe economic crimes and their requests to resign as NPC deputies had been accepted by their provincial people's congress.

Liu Guangzhi had been removed from the presidency of the Air Force Command College due to severe economic crimes and his request to resign as NPC deputy had been approved by the people's congress of the air force, according to the bulletin.
