French retail giant opens 55th shopping mall in China

Carrefour, a French retail giant, opened a new shopping mall Tuesday in Hefei, the first ever in this capital of east China's Anhui Province, or the 55th shopping mall Carrefour built on the Chinese mainland.

The new shop mall, invested jointly by Carrefour and a local company from neighboring Jiangsu Province, has a combined floor space of 22,000 sq.m. and will sell 30,000 kinds of products.

Apart from retail, the mall also has shops for exclusive dealership, catering service and entertainment.

Carrefour has altogether 55 shopping malls in 24 Chinese cities, employing 25,000 people.
