font size

All the 163 members attending the meeting of the 13th session of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee have unanimously passed the draft anti-secession law, which will be submitted for deliberations at the third full session of the 10th NPC slated for March 5 next year.

Major General Peng Guangqian with China Academy of Military Sciences pointed out in his interview with a Hong Kong Takungpao reporter that the anti-secession law is preventive and warning and is a red line. The inhibiting magic anti-secessionist law targets the Taiwan authorities' secessionist activities for "Taiwan independence'' in case they create "Taiwan independence''. It is only an aspect for governing the country by legalizing the Taiwan work and policies.

Professor Zhang Tongxin with the Renmin University of China said the anti-secession law will not only offer legal grounds by resorting to the use of force from the mainland in case the leaders of the Taiwan authorities dare to create the incident of "Taiwan independence'', but also fully embodies the mainland's consistent stand to strive for peaceful reunification by peaceful means. So we say, "it will be peaceful legislation.

According to China News Agency, over the last few years, people from all walks of life on the Chinese mainland and many overseas Chinese have repeatedly expressed an increasingly strong demand to fight the Taiwan secessionist forces and realize the peaceful reunification of China by legal means. The unanimous passing of the draft law by the lawmakers has aroused the attention from the overseas Chinese. The law also demonstrates the common will of all Chinese people So it is necessary to make the law and the conditions for making the law are ripe.

The anti-secession law is a law concerning the peaceful reunification of the motherland, maintaining peace and stability across the Straits, safeguarding China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and maintaining the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation. Therefore the draft anti-secession law will be submitted for deliberations at the third full session of the 10th NPC. It can be forecast that it will be the hot proceedings in the 10th NPC. With heated discussions the draft will have heartfelt support from nearly 3,000 NPC deputies.
