DPRK denounces US plan to deploy new type missiles in S.Korea

The Democratic People's Republicof Korea (DPRK) on Thursday denounced a US plan to deploy new typemissiles named "Bunker Burst" in South Korea next year, calling itan attempt to destroy the DPRK's underground military facilities.

"It discloses once again the US attempt to strike the DPRK's underground military facilities through preemptive attack, neutralize its war deterrent force and materialize with ease its scenario for a war of aggression against the DPRK," said a spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee.

The spokesman said the US had massively deployed in and around South Korea weapons of mass destruction including up-to-date military hardware which it tested in the Afghan and Iraqi wars in a bid to put into practice its anti-DPRK war scenarios.

"Its intention to deploy these missiles in South Korea after the introduction of PAC-3 in Kwangju of South Korea has pushed thesituation on the Korean Peninsula to an extremely grave phase," headded.
