China issues 687 billion yuan of treasury bonds

China's Ministry of Finance said it has collected 687.6 billion yuan (83.8 billion US dollars) worth of domestic treasury bonds in 2004.

China's national legislature approved in early 2004 the issuance of 685.7 billion yuan (83.6 billion US dollars) worth of treasury bonds, according to a news bulletin on the ministry's website.

The bonds the ministry issued include 441.4 billion yuan (53.8 US billion US dollars) worth of book-entry treasury bonds, and 251 billion yuan (30.6 billion US dollars) worth of certificate treasury bonds, according to the bulletin.
