Chinese state councilor meets world-famous conductor Seiji Ozawa

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with world-famous conductor Seiji Ozawa, and his party in Beijing Thursday.

The two sides had an exchange of views on issues of common concern during the meeting.

Born in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, in 1935, Ozawa lived in China with his parents till the age of six. In 2002, Ozawa became music director of the Vienna State Opera.

When he first conducted the Vienna Philharmonic at the Vienna New Year Concert, the Japanese maestro said "Happy new year" in Chinese to the world to express his special affection for China.
