Headaches, poor hearing and dizziness in noisy environments are now disturbing the teen who miraculously survived a 700-kilometer flight in a plane's landing gear last November.
The boy, surnamed Liang, has openly sought medical help recently for his symptoms after being deprived of oxygen and exposed to cold, high altitude air.
The 14-year-old boy flew from Yunnan Province's capital city Kunming to Chongqing in the hour-long flight last November. He wasfound by airport porters after the plane landed.
After returning to his hometown in central China's Hunan Province, Liang has suffered from headaches, dizziness and irritability, said mother, Zuo.
His parents took him to see doctors near their hometown, and Liang was diagnosed as having sunken eardrums and permanent traumato his ear nerves. But as the disease is rare in the region, localhospitals failed to cure him.
"I always have an earache and feel dizzy," said Liang in a telephone interview, "Especially when class is over and my friendsget excited and noisy, I will feel a buzz in my ear and can't hearanyy more. Sometimes even in class I will feel my mind go blank."
