At least three people were killed on January 8 in hand grenades blast in eastern Sri Lanka where international aid workers are helping tsunami victims, Local website Lankpage said on Sunday.

There is a rare clash between Christians and Hindus which killed at least three people and injured 37 others in eastern Sri Lanka, the website quoted police as saying, stressing that no aid workers were reportedly injured near the explosions at the time.

Two suspected assailants were arrested soon after the attack in a Tamil Tiger rebel-controlled area late Saturday, police said.
