Taiwan business people call for flights
font size

Taiwan businessmen, particularly those working on the mainland, welcome news of direct charter flights across the Straits.

He Zhiqiang, CEO of Taiwan Pacific Securities Co Ltd., said: "There are nearly two million business people in the mainland, so the number of people going back to Taiwan during Chinese lunar New Year is enormous. Authorities should considered people's feelings first, don't politicized the issue. For me, I quite agree with the chartered flights."

Ge Shuren, CEO of Taiwan Kejie Manufacture Co Ltd., said: "Basically, I'm happy to see the flight will be non-stop and the number of flights increased. I think it's helpful to the economy and feeling of communication between people across the straits. And it will promote mutual understanding."
