China's first movie park will open to the public this May, said sources with the Seventh China Changchun Film Festival which ended Wednesday in Changchun.
The 300,000-square-meter park will show movies with new technologies such as laser light, four-dimensional effect and three-dimensional screen. The project will take about 1.5 billion yuan (181 million US dollars) in investment from the Changchun Film Group Corporation, one of the largest film producers in China.
Liu Lijuan, general manager of the movie park, said that the park explores a new way of combining the film industry with the tourism, which will be help promote Chinese films.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of cinema in China, China held the Seventh China Changchun Film Festival on Monday in Changchun, capital of northeastern Jilin Province and one of the largest film production bases in the country.
Established in 1992 in Changchun, the China Changchun Film Festival has become a major event for Chinese film industry.
