Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with outgoing US Secretary of Commerce Donald Louis Evans in Beijing on January 13.

Wen said that he welcomed Evans and thanked his efforts in promoting China-US trade relations during the past four years.

Evans arrived in Beijing Tuesday as guest of US Ambassador to China Clark Randt. He held talked with Chinese Minister of

Commerce Bo Xilai Wednesday and attended an intellectual property rights roundtable Thursday morning.

Carlos Gutierrez, head of cereal giant Kellogg, has been nominated by US President Bush to replace Evans.
