Chinese vice-premier Wu Yi met with Donald L. Evans, Secretary of Commerce of United States in Beijing Thursday, and they had an exchange of views on prospects of bilateral trade and commerce.
Wu said that trade and commerce maintain a crucial part of Sino-US relations and China expects that it could continue to grow on an equal and reciprocal basis.
Evans reiterated US President Gorge W. Bush's promise to boost bilateral trade and commerce. He also expressed his appreciation to the achievements of the 15th Sino-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade held in May 2004.
After his arrival here Tuesday, Evens attended a Sino-US roundtable conference on intellectual property rights (IPR) Thursday morning.
