Indonesian woman arrested for bomb hoax at Thai, British embassies

The Indonesian police on Saturday announced the arrest of a woman who has confessed to sending a text message to the Thai and British embassies threatening of bombings.

"The suspect was arrested on Friday evening. She is hospitalized now for depression," Jakarta police spokesman Tjiptono told a press conference in Jakarta.

He said that the woman, identified only as Zulfah, 22, has no links with any terror group.

She made the bomb hoax to prevent his boyfriend, who works as a security guard at the Thai Embassy compound, from taking vacation to his hometown in East Java, said Tjiptono.

Zulfah sent the message to a hotline number provided by the Thai Embassy for information of terrorism.

Her message reads: "I warn you I will put bombs at the Thai and British Embassies on Imam Bonjol street. I will blow each of the embassies on Friday at noon and Saturday evening. It's no game and be careful."

Officers used the mobile phone number to trace the sender and arrested Zulfah on Friday evening.

The bomb hoax has forced both embassies to suspend public services on Friday.
