S. China province reports 26-percent foreign trade growth

Guangdong Province, one of China's economic powerhouses, reported a record foreign trade of 357.13 billion US dollars in 2004, a rise of 26 percent from the previous year and accounting for 30.9 percent of the national total, according to the latest statistics from local customs.

The export of the province rose by 25.3 percent to 191.56 billion US dollars and its import jumped by 26.7 percent to 165.57 billion US dollars.
