China's Ren Hui was perfect on Saturday in Innsbruck, Austria, as she coasted to victory with a new games record in the World Universiade women's 500 meters speedskating.

The Chinese sprinter, well clear of the rink after the first round with 39.15 seconds, extended her lead in the second as she reached 38.93, the only result that broke the 39-second mark.

Ren, who has already won a 1,500 meters silver medal on Thursday, clocked the winning total of 78.08 seconds.

Van Der Star Sanne from the Netherlands, who finished 500 races with 80.20, took silver with Japan's Aya Kajiki taking bronze in 80.40.

Ren will skate in the women's 1,000m on Sunday in hopes for another medal.

"I hope to win another medal tomorrow," said Ren. "I had an injury to my back and it influenced my 500m performance, but in the long-distance race, it doesn't matter that much."
