Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party has called on its members to continue to visit the Yasukuni Shrine, despite China and some other Asian countries protesting against the visits.
The party adopting a policy platform for 2005 at its annual convention Tuesday saying party members should visit the shrine. The controversial shrine honors World War II war criminals.
The 2005 policies also feature a resolve to revise the basic education law and the postwar constitution.
