Australian Embassy in Iraq, police station under bomb attack

A suicide car bomb went off near the Australian Embassy in Iraq Wednesday morning, killing at leasttwo people and wounding four others, police said.

The blast took place around 7:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) in Baghdad's central Jadiriyah neighborhood. About half an hour later, another car bomb hit apolice station in Baghdad's eastern Elwiyah neighborhood, also causing casualties.

Insurgents' attacks have been mounting recently as elections inIraq scheduled for Jan. 30 are drawing.
