Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin arrived in BeijingThursday afternoon to pay a four-day official visit to China, at the invitation of Premier Wen Jiabao.

During his visit, Chinese President Hu Jintao, China's top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao will hold talks or meet with him. Apart from Beijing, Martin will also visit Hong Kong.

Martin visited China twice as financial minister before he became prime minister in December of 2003. Last November, he met with Hu Jintao at the 12th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Chile.
