Vice Premier Huang to attend World Economic Forum 2005 meeting

Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju will attend the 2005 annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) from Jan. 28 to 30, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan at a regular press conference in Beijing Thursday.

Kong said that Huang, Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee,will deliver a speech at the meeting.

Created in 1971 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, the WEF is animportant forum for political and business leaders, economists, and officials from international organizations to discuss major global issues. The upcoming annual meeting of 2005 will focus on "Taking Responsibility for Tough Choices."
